About Course
Empower your students to be global citizens through purposeful, curriculum-aligned sustainability education.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a robust framework for addressing the world’s most pressing challenges – from climate change and poverty to inequality and quality education. But how do we make these goals meaningful and teachable in our classrooms and lecture theatres?
This course is designed for primary, secondary, and university educators who want to embed the SDGs into their teaching practice confidently. Whether you’re new to the goals or looking to deepen your integration of sustainability, this course will provide practical strategies, real-world examples, and culturally responsive approaches to bring global challenges to life for your students.
You’ll explore:
- The purpose and structure of all 17 SDGs – and why they matter for educators
- How to connect the SDGs to the Australian Curriculum and higher education frameworks
- Techniques for inclusive teaching, especially in politically or culturally sensitive contexts
- Project-based learning models that support student-led sustainability initiatives
- Tools for measuring impact, reflecting on practice, and sustaining student engagement
Through interactive modules, downloadable resources, and real educator stories, you’ll gain the confidence and competence to turn big global goals into classroom action – helping your learners think critically, act ethically, and feel empowered to shape a better future.
